Poway, CA (July 15, 2025) – Five people were killed when a car crashed and caught fire early Monday morning in Poway. Among the victims was 22-year-old Roberto Martinez Oros, whose identity was confirmed by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Accident Details: The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. on southbound Poway Road near Gate Drive. According to deputies, the vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree, and was quickly engulfed in flames. All five occupants were declared dead at the scene. The crash impact and fire were so severe that the victims could not be immediately identified.
Authorities believe speed may have been a factor in the collision, though they have not released further details about what led to the crash.
