Una mujer de 21 años resulta herida crítica en un atropello en una protesta en Riverside

RIVERSIDE, CA (June 22, 2025) – A young woman was seriously injured Saturday night when an SUV struck her during a protest in Riverside and then fled the scene, according to the Riverside Police Department.

Incident Details: The hit-and-run occurred during a “No Kings” demonstration east of Los Angeles. Around 9:00 p.m., a 21-year-old woman was marching with a group of protesters when an SUV veered toward the crowd and struck her. She sustained life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized in critical condition. The driver did not stop.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: Following a search aided by public tips, Riverside police arrested a 58-year-old local man on Monday. He is suspected of driving the SUV and may face charges including assault with a deadly weapon and hit-and-run causing injury. A 39-year-old Riverside woman was also arrested for allegedly moving the vehicle to a remote area of the Mojave Desert and attempting to destroy evidence. She may be charged with accessory after the fact and destruction of evidence.

We send our heartfelt support to the injured woman and her loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.
