Sacramento, CA (March 11, 2025) – A pedestrian sustained major injuries in a hit-and-run collision on the evening of Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
Accident Details: The accident occurred near Valley High Drive and Grandstaff Drive. Sacramento Police Department officers responded to the scene around 8 p.m. and found an injured pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment. The driver fled the scene. An active investigation is underway.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Drivers are required by law to stop, render aid, and report any collision involving injury or death. Failure to do so can expose the driver to both criminal and civil consequences.
Identifying the at-fault driver is the first step. Law enforcement will likely examine surveillance footage, witness testimony, and any available vehicle debris or paint transfer at the scene. They will use this information to reconstruct the accident, determine any identifiab le information about the driver and their car, and determine the direction they went after the accident.
Depending on the investigation and if the driver is located, the injured individual may be able to file a personal injury lawsuit. Victims may still have options through uninsured motorist coverage if the driver is not found.
I wish the injured pedestrian a full recovery. My thoughts are with them and their family during this difficult time.
