Vernon County, MO (June 24, 2025) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a southbound semi-truck early Tuesday morning on Interstate 49, near mile marker 101 just outside of Nevada, Missouri.
Incident Details: The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded around 6:00 a.m. and located the pedestrian deceased in the roadway. Authorities have not released the victim’s name, pending family notification. The driver of the semi remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Troopers will analyze roadway evidence, driver statements, and dash camera data to determine whether the pedestrian was in a travel lane and whether the driver took reasonable evasive action.
