Peatón inmovilizado contra la pared por un sospechoso de conducir ebrio en Miramar

San Diego, CA (March 15, 2025) – A 23-year-old man suffered serious leg injuries Saturday morning when a suspected DUI driver crashed into him in front of a strip mall on Miramar Road. The incident occurred around 8:40 a.m. at 9532 Miramar Road.

Incident Details: According to the San Diego Police Department, the victim was handling trash bags outside the strip mall when a 39-year-old male driver, for unknown reasons, drove forward over a curb and pinned the pedestrian’s leg against the wall. The victim was transported to a hospital with apparent fractures and also complained of head pain. Authorities suspect the driver was under the influence at the time of the crash, but his identity has not yet been released.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: DUI-related crashes can lead to both criminal charges and civil liability. Investigators will likely assess the driver’s level of impairment and whether negligence played a role. If the driver is found to have been intoxicated, the injured victim may have grounds for a personal injury claim to seek compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering. Additionally, if a business establishment overserved the driver before the crash, dram shop liability laws could come into play.

I hope for a full recovery for the injured victim.
