Whittier, CA (August 18, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred Friday night in the Whittier area, claiming the life of 29-year-old Daniel Cortez.
Accident Details: The incident took place at approximately 10:24 p.m. at the intersection of Marquardt Avenue and Imperial Highway. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Cortez was struck by a Toyota Tacoma while on Imperial Highway. The impact resulted in blunt trauma, and Cortez was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
The Medical Examiner’s office has ruled the death as accidental. However, the investigation by the CHP is ongoing as they work to determine the full circumstances leading up to the collision.
