LOMPOC, CA (July 14, 2025) – A motorcycle crash in Lompoc Monday night left one rider dead and a juvenile passenger critically injured, according to local authorities.
Accident Details: The crash occurred around 9:20 p.m. in the 1800 block of West Central Avenue, just past Bailey Avenue. The collision involved a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle carrying two riders.
First responders from the Lompoc Police and Fire departments, along with American Medical Response, arrived at the scene to provide emergency care. One of the motorcycle riders received CPR at the scene, according to emergency dispatch reports.
Both motorcycle riders sustained major injuries and were transported to Lompoc Valley Medical Center and Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria. The adult male motorcycle rider later died from his injuries. The juvenile passenger remains in critical condition.
Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased pending notification of the family. The age of the juvenile has also not been disclosed.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was not injured and remained at the scene, cooperating with police.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The Lompoc Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. At this time, drugs or alcohol are not suspected as factors. In motorcycle crashes involving multiple vehicles, investigators typically review right-of-way issues, vehicle speeds, and whether safe driving protocols were followed.
