Edgar County, IL (May 20, 2025) – One person was hospitalized following a collision involving a semi-truck and a pickup truck in Edgar County Monday afternoon.
Incident Details: The crash occurred at the intersection of 1200 North and 2070 East near Brocton around 1:30 p.m., according to Illinois State Police. A preliminary investigation revealed that a pickup truck traveling westbound on 1200 North failed to yield at an intersection and collided with a northbound semi-truck. The impact caused the pickup truck to catch fire.
One occupant of the pickup was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured in the crash.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash. No citations have been issued at this time, and police have not indicated whether drugs, alcohol, or speed played a factor.
