Marina, CA (June 17, 2025) — An adult male pedestrian was fatally injured late Monday night after being struck by a vehicle on Reservation Road near Mbest Drive, according to the Marina Police Department.
Incident Details: The crash occurred around 11:02 p.m. on June 16. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported the man to Natividad Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries. His identity has not been released pending next-of-kin notification. The driver involved in the initial collision remained on scene and fully cooperated with investigators. Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol as contributing factors.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Police continue investigating and will examine whether the pedestrian was in the roadway unlawfully or whether poor lighting or visibility contributed to the crash. Preliminary findings suggest a second vehicle may have struck the pedestrian after the initial impact. Investigators will likely rely on surveillance footage, vehicle data, and forensic evidence to reconstruct the sequence of events.
Pending the investigation’s findings, the victim’s family may have grounds to pursue a wrongful death claim to assist with funeral expenses, loss of companionship, emotional distress, and other damages.
My condolences go out to the loved ones of the pedestrian.
