Fresno, CA (June 5, 2025) — A man in his 20s was fatally injured early Wednesday morning after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision in central Fresno, according to the Fresno Police Department (FPD).
Incident Details: Officers were dispatched just before 5:00 a.m. to Olive Avenue near Cedar Avenue after receiving reports of a person down in the roadway. When they arrived, they found the victim bleeding and unresponsive. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities believe the man was hit by a car that fled the scene. Detectives are actively investigating and are asking residents and businesses in the area to review home security footage that may have captured the vehicle or incident.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The Fresno Police Department continues investigating the collision and will work to identify the driver. Critical evidence may come from surveillance footage, vehicle debris, or eyewitness testimony.
