Lakeside, CA (April 27, 2025) – A 12-year-old girl named Emery tragically lost her life in a traffic accident in Lakeside on Saturday afternoon.
Incident Details: The crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of Willow Road and Ashwood Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, Emery was crossing the street when she was struck by a pickup truck traveling westbound. Despite lifesaving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: CHP officers are actively investigating the crash to determine contributing factors. Authorities have not indicated that drugs or alcohol played a role. Investigators will review evidence, including the truck’s speed and visibility conditions, to establish whether negligence or other infractions contributed to the tragedy.
