Anaheim, CA (September 15, 2024) – A tragic hit-and-run accident in Anaheim on Sunday, September 15, claimed the life of 47-year-old Sabrina Ruiz Adame.
Accident Details: The incident occurred around 4:40 a.m. near the intersection of Katella Avenue and Euclid Street, according to a statement from the Anaheim Police Department (APD). Witnesses reported seeing a dark-colored SUV traveling westbound on Katella Avenue when it struck Adame, who was crossing the road. Instead of stopping to render aid, the driver fled the scene.
Adame suffered from severe traumatic injuries. She was immediately transported to a nearby hospital but sadly did not survive.
Investigation: After a thorough investigation, police identified 24-year-old Edgar Arce as the driver of the SUV. He was arrested on September 18 and booked for felony hit-and-run. Investigators also seized the vehicle, which was believed to be involved in the crash. Anyone with additional information about the accident is encouraged to contact the Anaheim police.
Legal Considerations: As a personal injury attorney, I find that several aspects of this case warrant further examination. The family of Sabrina Ruiz Adame may have grounds to file a wrongful death lawsuit. Hitting Ruiz Adame and Arce’s decision to flee the accident scene could be used as evidence of negligence and reckless behavior. Investigators will also determine whether other factors, such as impaired driving or speeding, could have contributed to the crash.
My deepest condolences go out to the family and loved ones of Sabrina Ruiz Adame during this challenging time. I hope that the ongoing investigation provides some measure of closure for those affected.
