Mobile County, AL (April 9, 2025) – A tragic multi-vehicle crash involving two tractor-trailers claimed the life of 20-year-old Hayley B. Terry of Mobile and left another driver injured.
Incident Details: According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the collision occurred around 6:06 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, on Interstate 10 near the 14-mile marker, approximately one mile west of Mobile. Terry was driving a 2004 Ford F-150 when it was first struck by a 2005 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by 70-year-old David S. Clark of Avon Park, Florida. The impact pushed Terry’s vehicle into a second tractor-trailer—a 2018 Kenworth operated by 32-year-old Franklin M. Fajardo of Houston, Texas. Terry was pronounced dead at the scene. Fajardo sustained undisclosed injuries in the crash.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The ALEA Highway Patrol Division is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, including the possibility of driver error, vehicle speed, and reaction times. Investigators may also assess whether either of the commercial drivers involved complied with required rest periods and safe driving practices, which are crucial in collisions involving heavy trucks.
