Two Women Critically Injured in Fullerton Collision Between Box Truck and Electric Scooters

Fullerton, CA (September 27, 2025) – Two women riding electric scooters were critically injured in a collision with a box truck in Fullerton.

Accident Details: The crash occurred around 7:00 p.m. at the intersection of Associated Road and Yorba Linda Boulevard. Initial findings suggest that the two women were traveling southbound in the No. 2 lane of Associated Road when the box truck, also moving south in the same lane, struck them from behind.

According to the Fullerton Police Department, officers arrived to find two female riders lying in the roadway with severe injuries. A white box truck, believed to have been involved, was stopped nearby at the scene.

Emergency crews from the Fullerton Fire Department provided immediate aid before transporting both women to a trauma center. Hospital officials listed their conditions as critical late Saturday night. Their identities have not been released.

Authorities noted that, based on evidence gathered so far, drugs or alcohol do not appear to have played a role in the crash.

Investigation: The Fullerton Police Department’s traffic investigators are working to establish the exact sequence of events. Reconstructing the collision will involve reviewing physical evidence such as skid marks, the scooters’ final resting positions, and any impact points on the truck.

Officers will also interview the truck driver and potential witnesses to determine whether visibility, speed, or lane positioning contributed to the crash. Surveillance or traffic cameras in the area may provide further insight into how the incident occurred, including whether the riders were clearly visible in the roadway prior to impact.

Investigators will also examine whether the driver of the box truck was distracted, fatigued, or failed to maintain a safe following distance. Other factors, such as lighting at dusk and the layout of the intersection, may also be considered.

The department is asking anyone with information to come forward and assist Traffic Accident Investigator J. Muno.

Legal Considerations: All drivers must operate vehicles with reasonable care. If evidence shows the truck driver failed to maintain proper caution, civil liability may be established.

The women injured in this crash may have the right to pursue a personal injury claim, depending on the outcome of the investigation. Such claims can help victims recover compensation for medical expenses, rehabilitation, lost income, damages for pain and suffering, and the diminished quality of life resulting from catastrophic injuries.

The findings of the police investigation will be crucial in determining accountability and the types of compensation that may be available to the victims and their families.

My thoughts are with the two women critically injured in this devastating crash, and I wish them a fast recovery.
