Incident Details: The fatal collision occurred on the afternoon of May 2, prompting the closure of eastbound I-580 and causing significant traffic delays. The San Joaquin County Medical Examiner identified the victims on Monday as Fernando Martinez Espinoza and Margarita Ramirez Espinoza, both 53 years old and residents of Modesto.
CHP has not yet determined what caused the crash, and further details regarding how the collision unfolded have not been released.
