Palm Desert, CA (September 24, 2024) – A tragic two-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning on Varner Road claimed the life of 18-year-old Andrew Castellanos from Cathedral City.
Accident Details: According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident occurred just before 8:00 a.m. Initial reports indicate that Castellanos was driving a sedan eastbound on Varner Road when he lost control of the vehicle. Witnesses reported that the Sedan veered onto the dirt shoulder before overcorrecting, crossing into the westbound lane, and colliding with a white Ford pickup truck hauling a utility trailer. Castellanos was killed. The driver of the Ford and his passenger suffered minor injuries but were not reported to have sustained major harm.
