Bakersfield, CA (July 26, 2025) – A suspected drunk driver was arrested following a crash in East Bakersfield that left one man dead and another injured.
Accident Details: According to Bakersfield Police, the crash happened shortly after 5:00 a.m. on Fairfax Road. A man driving a silver Infiniti struck another vehicle, killing the 36-year-old male driver and injuring a passenger.
The suspected DUI driver, a 25-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and was taken into custody.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The driver was arrested for DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter. Police are awaiting toxicology reports and analyzing crash data. The family of the deceased may be eligible to file a wrongful death claim, and the injured passenger may pursue a personal injury suit.
