Sun Valley, CA (March 19, 2025) – One person was killed Tuesday evening in a high-speed collision involving a box truck and a coupe on Lankershim Boulevard near the 5 Freeway. The impact sent debris flying and caused significant damage to multiple vehicles.
Incident Details: Surveillance footage from a nearby business captured the crash, which occurred just before 7 p.m. on March 18. The footage shows a silver two-door coupe traveling northbound on Lankershim Boulevard when the driver suddenly lost control, swerving into southbound traffic. A box truck traveling in the opposite direction then crashed into the coupe, sending it spinning into a parked pickup truck. The impact also forced the box truck into multiple other parked vehicles.
Authorities confirmed that one person was pronounced dead at the scene, but they have not yet identified the victim or specified which vehicle they were in. Officials have not determined whether speed, drugs, or alcohol played a role in the collision.
