Muere un conductor al chocar un semirremolque contra un coche parado en la autopista 15 en Barstow

BARSTOW, CA (July 14, 2025) – One person was killed Monday night when a semi-truck crashed into a stalled vehicle on the 15 Freeway near Barstow, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Accident Details: The crash occurred south of Hodge Road when a sedan became disabled in the slow lane of the freeway. A good Samaritan stopped nearby and attempted to warn oncoming traffic using a spotlight. Despite these efforts, a semi-truck was unable to stop in time and collided with the stalled car.

Emergency crews responded and attempted CPR on the sedan’s driver, but the individual was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.

The semi-truck driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. In collisions involving stalled vehicles, investigators typically assess roadway lighting, driver speed, reaction times, and whether proper warnings were in place. Commercial truck drivers are required to exercise caution and maintain sufficient stopping distance, especially in areas with disabled vehicles.

Families of individuals killed in truck crashes may have legal options to pursue wrongful death claims, depending on the outcome of the investigation.

We extend our condolences to the family and loved ones of the driver who lost their life in this tragic crash.
