Nueve heridos, entre ellos varios niños, al chocar un monovolumen contra una multitud en el centro de Los Ángeles

Los Angeles, CA (April 8, 2025) – A horrifying crash in the Fashion District of downtown Los Angeles sent nine people, including three children, to the hospital after a minivan veered onto a crowded sidewalk near the Santee Alley shopping area on Sunday afternoon.

Incident Details: Around 3:15 p.m., a minivan drove onto the sidewalk and rammed into a group of pedestrians in one of the busiest retail zones in the city. The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that four adult women—ages 54, 65, 30, and 23—and three boys, ages 8, 11, and 17, were hospitalized in fair condition. Two additional victims, both 23-year-old women, declined treatment and were released from the scene against medical advice.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: The LAPD Central Traffic Division is leading the investigation and has not yet determined whether the incident was intentional or terror-related. Investigators will likely examine driver intent, possible impairment, or medical emergencies as potential causes. Victims may have grounds to pursue civil claims for injury, especially if negligence or reckless driving is confirmed. Businesses in high-traffic pedestrian areas may also consider advocating for traffic-calming measures in the aftermath of such crashes.
