Perry County, MS (March 4, 2025) — A two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 98 in Perry County claimed the life of 25-year-old Conner Sanderson early Tuesday morning. The accident, involving a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck, remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP).
Incident Overview: According to MHP, the crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. as both vehicles were traveling westbound on U.S. 98. Sanderson was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado, while 41-year-old Antoine Weathers of New Augusta, Mississippi, was operating a 2000 International tractor-trailer.
For reasons still under investigation, the two vehicles collided, resulting in fatal injuries to Sanderson, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Weathers’ condition has not been disclosed, and whether he sustained injuries is unclear.
