Compton, CA (August 9, 2025) — Authorities are searching for a driver who fled the scene after striking a young child in Compton Saturday night, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Incident Details: The collision occurred around 9 p.m. at the intersection of Queensdale and Bradfield avenues. Deputies say the child, believed to be about 3 years old, was hit by a vehicle that immediately left the scene. The child was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident as a hit-and-run. Detectives are working to identify the driver and vehicle involved. In hit-and-run cases, victims and their families may have the right to pursue legal claims for medical expenses, pain and suffering, and other losses, even if the at-fault driver is not immediately located.
I wish the child a swift and full recovery.
