Bryan Ordaz-Reyes y Braxton Amador mueren tras chocar un semirremolque contra un vehículo inutilizado en la I-40

Gray County, TX (April 27, 2025) – Two young men from Dumas, Texas, were killed early Saturday morning in a tragic crash on Interstate 40 involving a disabled vehicle and a semi-truck.

Incident Details: The fatal crash occurred around 2:16 a.m. approximately three miles west of Alanreed. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 2020 Freightliner semi-truck was traveling eastbound on I-40 when it struck a 2018 Chevrolet Camaro that had been disabled on the roadway from a prior crash. The area was dark and weather conditions were poor, making visibility difficult. The semi collided with the Camaro on the passenger side. The Camaro’s driver, 21-year-old Bryan Ordaz-Reyes, was ejected from the vehicle, and both he and his passenger, 19-year-old Braxton Amador, were pronounced dead at the scene. The semi-truck driver was not injured.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the prior crash that left the Camaro disabled on the highway. The poor weather and visibility conditions may be significant factors in the semi driver’s inability to avoid the vehicle. Investigators may also assess the use of hazard lights or reflectors and whether either vehicle’s placement on the road complied with safety protocols for disabled vehicles.

My sincere condolences go out to the families and friends of Bryan Ordaz-Reyes and Braxton Amador during this time of immense grief.
