Muere Brian Kelty en un choque entre un semirremolque y un todoterreno en la IL-336 en Illinois

Hancock County, IL (June 5, 2025) — A 47-year-old man from Golden, Illinois, was killed early Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck and an SUV on Illinois Route 336, according to the Illinois State Police.

Incident Details: The crash occurred around 6:18 a.m. near 400 North, approximately three miles east of West Point. Authorities say the collision involved a Kenworth semi-truck and a Ford Explorer SUV. The SUV’s driver, identified as Brian Kelty, was pronounced dead at the scene by Hancock County Coroner Kendall Beals.

The crash left the semi partially in a ditch, and one lane of IL-336 was shut down while officials investigated. Emergency crews from West Point and Bowen Fire Departments and the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene. A portable speed bump was installed to slow approaching traffic.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: The Illinois State Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. Investigators will likely examine vehicle positioning, driver behavior, weather conditions, and potential mechanical issues.

Pending the investigation’s findings, the victim’s family may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim. Such claims can help compensate for funeral costs, loss of financial support, and emotional suffering.

My condolences go out to the family and friends of Brian Kelty during this difficult time.
