Muere un peatón en un accidente en Norris Road en Bakersfield

Bakersfield, CA (October 9, 2025) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a possible fatal pedestrian crash that occurred Thursday morning on Norris Road in Bakersfield.

Accident Details: Authorities said the crash happened near the intersection of Norris Road and Airport Drive. CHP officers arrived to find a pedestrian down in the roadway after being struck by a vehicle. Emergency medical personnel were called to the scene, but officials have not confirmed whether the victim was pronounced dead at the scene or at a hospital. The driver involved remained on-site and cooperated with investigators. Lanes along Norris Road were closed while officers documented the scene and cleared the area.

Investigation: The California Highway Patrol is working to determine how the collision occurred and whether the pedestrian was in a crosswalk at the time of impact. Investigators are reviewing scene evidence, visibility conditions, and statements from witnesses and the driver. Officials have not released the victim’s identity, and no arrests or citations have been announced. The investigation remains ongoing.

Legal Considerations: Pedestrian crashes often involve questions of right-of-way, speed, and driver attentiveness. Depending on the findings, the driver or other parties could face criminal or civil liability. Families of deceased victims may pursue wrongful death claims to recover funeral costs and other damages if negligence is proven.

This was a tragic scene for everyone involved. I extend heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the victim in this Bakersfield pedestrian accident.
