Irma Pedraza Killed, Son Injured in Fullerton Rear-End Crash

Fullerton, CA (April 15, 2024) – A devastating crash early Monday in Fullerton claimed the life of 62-year-old Irma Pedraza and injured her 22-year-old son Christian as they were headed to a local donut shop. The accident occurred at the intersection of Orangethorpe Avenue and Harbor Boulevard.

Incident Overview: Irma and Christian Pedraza were struck by a speeding driver while making a right turn at a red light. Their vehicle, a new blue RAV4, was hit by a white BMW that smashed into the rear of their car. There was also another vehicle struck at the light and the driver of the BMW was taken to the hospital. Their identity and their condition has not been revealed.

Investigation and Legal Implications: Police are investigating the crash, with initial reports indicating that high speed was a significant factor and are also exploring whether alcohol or drugs were involved. The incident highlights the dangers of reckless driving and the potential for serious legal consequences for the responsible parties. Based on preliminary information, the family may be able to pursue a wrongful death claim against the driver responsible for the loss of Irma. Additionally, Christian could choose to pursue a personal injury claim for his injuries as well.

I offer my sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Irma Pedraza. I also wish her son Christian a speedy recovery after this horrific crash. If you can please, donate to the family’s GoFundMe to help with funeral and medical expenses.
