St. Charles Parish, LA (June 26, 2025) – An 18-wheeler crash on Interstate 10 near the Bonnet Carré Spillway caused significant traffic delays Thursday morning, according to Louisiana State Police.
Incident Details: The crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I‑10. The 18-wheeler overturned, blocking multiple lanes and backing up traffic for several miles. There were no immediate reports of life-threatening injuries, but emergency crews responded to assess the scene and assist with cleanup.
The crash caused delays stretching back to Kenner, as drivers attempted to navigate detours and reduced capacity on the bridge.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Louisiana State Police are investigating the crash and have not yet stated what caused the 18-wheeler to overturn. Investigators will examine factors such as speed, driver fatigue, mechanical failure, and road conditions.
