Eight Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash in Marysville

Marysville, CA (March 5, 2025) – A five-vehicle collision on Wednesday at the intersection of 10th Street (Highway 20) and G Street left eight people injured, three of whom suffered significant injuries, according to the Marysville Police Department.

Incident Overview: The accident occurred when a white Tesla traveling eastbound on 10th Street at a high rate of speed failed to brake in time and collided with multiple vehicles stopped in the eastbound #1 lane. The impact sent a black Nissan into the opposing westbound lanes, escalating the severity of the crash.

A white SUV was struck by an eastbound Tesla and became wedged beneath the back of a stationary fuel tractor-trailer. The Tesla ended up in the westbound lanes of 10th Street, resulting in substantial damage and injuries to multiple occupants.

Emergency responders transported eight victims to nearby hospitals, including Adventist Rideout Hospital, Sutter Roseville, and UC Davis Medical Center. Police confirmed that while three victims sustained major injuries, no fatalities have been reported at this time.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: Authorities are actively investigating the cause of the crash, including whether speeding, driver distraction, or possible mechanical failure played a role. The Tesla’s speed and inability to stop likely initiated the chain reaction crash, raising significant concerns about negligence.

Legal consequences could follow if investigators determine that reckless driving or driver impairment contributed to the collision. Injured victims may have grounds for personal injury claims, seeking compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering. Additionally, the owners of the damaged vehicles may have claims for property damage.

Authorities expect to release further details as more information becomes available. The Marysville Police Department urges anyone with information about the crash to contact them.

My thoughts are with the injured victims, and I hope for their full recovery.
