DUI Crash in Fresno County Claims Life of Adeline Ramos

Fresno County, CA (June 20, 2024) – A devastating head-on collision occurred Thursday in Fresno County, killing 43-year-old Adeline Ramos.

Accident Details: The accident occurred near Highway 180 and Cornelia Avenue shortly after midnight. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) stated that 21-year-old Amadeo Menera swerved into the next lane, where traffic went the opposite way. Menera’s vehicle then collided head-on with a Nissan in the opposite lane, which Ramos was a passenger in. Ramos was transported to a local hospital but later died from her injuries. Both Menera and the driver of the Nissan suffered major injuries and were also transported to the hospital.

Investigation: Preliminary reports indicate that Menera was impaired at the time of the crash. He was arrested on charges of driving under the influence.

Legal Considerations: In cases involving DUI, the legal consequences are severe, as impaired driving poses a significant danger to public safety. Confirming Menera’s level of impairment is vital. Toxicology tests will reveal the presence and amount of alcohol or drugs in his system, providing crucial evidence. Driving while under the influence can lead to severe criminal and civil legal issues. If investigators find that Menera’s impairment was the cause of the crash, then Ramos’s family may be able to file a wrongful death claim. This claim can potentially allow them to recover compensation for Ramos’s death, including funeral and burial expenses. Similarly, the driver of the Nissan may be able to file a personal injury claim for their injuries in the car accident.

My thoughts are with the family and friends of Adeline Ramos as they go through this difficult time.
