Double Hit-and-Run Crash in North Hollywood Claims the Life of Ravenna Leyva

North Hollywood, CA (January 24, 2025) – A devastating double hit-and-run collision in North Hollywood on Friday night tragically claimed the life of 26-year-old Ravenna Leyva.

Accident Details: The incident occurred around 9:40 p.m. in the 11700 block of Victory Boulevard near Colfax Avenue.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Leyva was initially struck by a westbound vehicle, described only as a sedan, which fled the scene without stopping. Moments later, a second vehicle, described as a light blue or gray 2003 Toyota 4Runner, struck her again and also fled the scene. Leyva was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

Investigation: The LAPD’s West Traffic Bureau is leading the investigation and has asked for public assistance in identifying the vehicles and drivers involved. The City of Los Angeles is offering a standing reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the resolution of this fatal hit-and-run case.

Legal Considerations: As a personal injury attorney, I find that several aspects of this case warrant further examination. Both drivers who struck Leyva failed in their legal duty to stop and render aid. This blatant disregard for the law and human life can expose drivers to criminal and civil consequences.

Leyva’s family may pursue a civil claim called a wrongful death claim lawsuit for both drivers. If identified, these drivers could be held accountable for funeral expenses, emotional distress, and the loss of financial support due to Leyva’s death.

My deepest condolences go out to the family and loved ones of Ravenna Leyva during this unimaginable time of grief.
