Dirt Bike Rider Tristen Hamilton Killed in Piñon Hills Hit-and-Run Collision

Piñon Hills, CA (January 19, 2025) – On the evening of Sunday, January 19, 2025, Tristen Hamilton, 25, of Piñon Hills, tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run crash while riding his dirt bike on Green Road, south of Hollister Road.

Accident Details: Hamilton, also known to family as Tristen Horn, was ejected from his 2007 Yamaha YZ250F after being struck by a pickup truck. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The pickup truck driver fled the area, leaving investigators to determine the vehicle’s involvement through evidence left behind. Officials believe the suspect vehicle may be a 1983 to 2005 Ford F-250. Hamilton leaves behind his wife and two young children.

Investigation: Authorities urge anyone with information about the collision to contact them.

Legal Considerations: As a personal injury attorney, I find that several aspects of this case warrant further examination. Hit-and-run crashes are a severe violation of law and duty, as drivers must remain at the scene of an accident to provide aid and exchange information. In this case, the driver’s failure to stay and render assistance constitutes a breach of their duty of care. Beyond criminal liability, the driver may also face civil claims.

Hamilton’s family may file a wrongful death claim against the responsible party once identified. Such claims allow families to seek compensation for funeral expenses, emotional pain, and the loss of companionship.

I offer my sincerest condolences to Tristen Hamilton’s family and friends during this difficult time. His family has set up a GoFundMe account. Please contribute if you can.
