Delivery Truck Crash in Indiana Borough Kills John Forest Reeger and Injures Wife

Indiana Borough, PA (March 11, 2025) – A pedestrian accident claimed the life of 68-year-old John Forest Reeger of Clarksburg and left his wife seriously injured after they were struck by a delivery truck at an intersection.

Accident Details: The collision occurred just before 9:20 a.m. at the intersection of North 9th Street and Philadelphia Street when an Alliance Properties Group delivery truck turned left and struck Reeger and his wife while they were walking in the crosswalk.

Emergency responders transported Reeger to the emergency room, where he was pronounced dead approximately an hour later, according to the Indiana County Coroner’s Office. His wife was airlifted to Conemaugh Hospital, though her current condition has not been released. The Pennsylvania State Police and Indiana Borough Police Department are investigating the crash to determine what led to the fatal impact.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: Pedestrians generally have the right-of-way in marked crosswalks, and drivers must yield before making turns. Investigators will determine whether the delivery truck driver failed to check for pedestrians before turning.

Authorities will also assess whether the truck driver was distracted, fatigued, or in a rush to complete deliveries. Left-turn pedestrian crashes often occur due to reduced visibility, failure to scan the crosswalk, or misjudging pedestrian movement. Surveillance footage, witness accounts, and black box data from the truck may provide critical evidence in determining what happened in the moments leading up to the collision.

If negligence is found, the Reeger family may have grounds to pursue a wrongful death claim. This claim could provide compensation for funeral expenses, loss of financial support, and emotional suffering resulting from the loss of John Forest Reeger. His wife may be able to file a personal injury claim and recover compensation for lost wages and medical expenses.

I extend my condolences to the family and friends of John Forest Reeger during this challenging time. I hope for a swift recovery for his wife.
