Gardner, MA (June 23, 2025) – A City of Gardner employee, identified as Darrell Sweeney, was seriously injured Monday afternoon in a crash involving a utility bucket truck and a tractor-trailer at the intersection of Elm Street and Temple Street.
Incident Details: The crash occurred just after 2 p.m., prompting a large emergency response from Gardner Police, Gardner Fire, and the Massachusetts State Police. According to initial reports, the impact of the collision caused Sweeney, a utility worker, to fall from the bucket of his truck. He was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
