Ector County, TX (June 28, 2025) – A man was killed in a collision with a semi-truck early Saturday morning on State Highway 302.
Accident Details: The crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. and claimed the life of 56-year-old Christopher Eric Wilke. Investigators say Wilke was traveling westbound on State Highway 302, while a semi-truck was heading eastbound and attempting to turn north onto FM 181.
According to their preliminary findings, the semi failed to yield the right of way at the intersection, colliding with Wilke’s vehicle.
Wilke died at the scene of the crash. The semi-truck driver was not injured.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the crash. Investigators will gather physical evidence, examine any available surveillance footage, and review witness statements to help them determine exactly what happened in the moments before the collision.
Depending on the outcome of the investigation, Wilke’s family may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim.
