Chippewa County, WI (June 10, 2025) – Several individuals sustained minor injuries following a crash between a semi-truck and a highway maintenance vehicle on State Highway 29 in the Town of Wheaton.
Incident Details: Authorities report the semi-truck collided with a contractor’s vehicle that was painting road markings. The impact ruptured one of the semi’s fuel tanks, spilling about 50 gallons of diesel. Debris also struck a nearby worker.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating. Westbound lanes were restricted for over two hours during cleanup.
