Sacramento, CA (May 4, 2024) — The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is seeking witnesses following a fatal crash involving three vehicles and a pedestrian on Highway 99 in Sacramento early Saturday morning. The collision was reported at approximately 4:15 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Highway 99, just north of Fruitridge Road and resulted in the death of 25-year-old Brandon Nicholas Metz.
Incident Overview: According to a news release from the CHP’s South Sacramento office, the crash involved three vehicles: a 2013 Honda driven by a 32-year-old, a 2009 Toyota operated by a 22-year-old man from Elk Grove, and a 2013 Toyota driven by a 64-year-old man from Grass Valley. None of the drivers sustained injuries or were arrested at the scene. Metz was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the collision.
