Bakersfield, CA (June 10) — One person was killed and two others were injured in a fiery crash Tuesday morning that may have involved DUI, according to Bakersfield police. The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of South Union Avenue and East Belle Terrace.
Incident Details: Surveillance footage showed a red car speeding southbound before colliding with a white SUV that was turning onto East Belle Terrace. The SUV erupted into flames upon impact. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and two others were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity. Officials have not released the names of those involved.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Police believe alcohol or drugs may have been contributing factors. The investigation remains ongoing, and charges may be filed pending toxicology results and additional findings.
