Sidney, OH (March 28, 2025) – Anna Nation, 66, of Sidney, was fatally struck by a semi-truck early Friday morning while walking along Campbell Road, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Incident Details: The crash occurred at approximately 5:37 a.m. on Campbell Road, east of Stolle Avenue. A white Volvo semi-tractor, driven by 71-year-old David Pachin of Lewisburg, was traveling eastbound when it struck Nation, who was walking in the roadway. She was transported by ambulance to Wilson Memorial Hospital, where she later died from her injuries. The driver of the semi was uninjured.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding why Nation was in the roadway and whether the driver had adequate time to see and avoid her. Factors such as lighting, visibility, road design, and driver attentiveness will be considered. If evidence points to negligence, Nation’s family may have grounds for a wrongful death claim to pursue compensation for their loss.
