Playa del Rey, CA (March 18, 2025) – A woman was killed Sunday evening when a vehicle careened off the road following a two-car collision near Dockweiler State Beach. The crash occurred just after 7 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Vista del Mar.
Incident Details: According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, two cars collided, causing one of the vehicles to veer off the roadway. The car then struck a female pedestrian below. Paramedics determined that she was beyond medical help and pronounced her dead at the scene. Another person involved in the crash, a man in his 70s, sustained minor injuries. Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved or provided details on what led to the initial collision.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Crashes involving vehicles leaving the roadway often raise concerns about driver negligence, speeding, or unsafe road conditions. Investigators will likely examine whether reckless driving, impairment, or mechanical failure contributed to the collision.
