Hesperia, CA (June 4, 2025) — According to the California Highway Patrol, a collision involving a sedan and a pickup truck sent both drivers to the hospital Wednesday afternoon and temporarily shut down traffic on Summit Valley Road.
Incident Details: The crash occurred around 12:09 p.m. near the intersection of Summit Valley Road and Foley Road. Authorities say a black Kia Forte and a white pickup truck collided under circumstances that remain under investigation. Initial reports suggested a head-on crash, but evidence at the scene indicates the Kia may have struck the side of the pickup.
The Kia, which sustained extensive damage to the driver’s side, came to rest nearly 500 feet from the initial point of impact. Firefighters had to extricate the male driver from the wreckage. Mercy Air airlifted him to a trauma center. His condition has not been released. The pickup truck driver, also a male, suffered less severe injuries and was transported by ground ambulance.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash to determine speed, right-of-way, and driver attentiveness. Investigators will likely examine skid marks, collision angles, and witness accounts to establish fault.
Pending the outcome of the investigation, the injured parties may have grounds for a personal injury claim to help with medical and rehabilitation costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
I extend our best wishes to both drivers for a complete .
