Three Injured After Tractor-Trailer Overturns in Isle of Wight County

Isle of Wight County, VA (May 21, 2025) – A crash involving a tractor-trailer carrying 44,000 pounds of ham left three people injured after the truck overturned on Five Forks Road in Isle of Wight County.

Incident Details: According to Virginia State Police, the collision occurred around 8:50 a.m. Tuesday on Route 614 (Five Forks Road) near the intersection of Route 620. A 2020 Toyota Camry reportedly crossed the center line and struck a 2007 Kenworth tractor-trailer head-on. The impact caused the truck to overturn, spilling its cargo and closing the roadway. Both drivers and a passenger in the Camry sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

Investigation and Legal Considerations: Authorities stated that charges are pending as the investigation remains ongoing. It is not currently known whether speed or impairment were factors in the crash. Cleanup of the roadway and recovery of the trailer’s cargo caused extended delays.

We extend our thoughts to all three individuals injured in this incident and wish them a full recovery.
