Barrie, ON (June 12, 2025) – A five-vehicle crash involving a transport truck severely disrupted the morning commute on Highway 400 Thursday.
Incident Details: According to Ontario Provincial Police, the crash occurred when a tractor-trailer struck the median barrier, triggering a chain-reaction collision involving four other vehicles. The incident happened near Mapleview Drive in Barrie just before 6:30 a.m.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Authorities confirmed three people were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The truck driver was charged with careless driving. The OPP closed northbound lanes during the investigation, which significantly slowed traffic during rush hour.
