Fresno County, CA (July 26, 2025) – A head-on collision in Fresno County sent three people to the hospital Saturday night, prompting road closures and a California Highway Patrol investigation.
Accident Details: The crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Highway 180 near Blythe Avenue. CHP officials said a Toyota and a Honda collided head-on in the westbound lanes under unclear circumstances. Two people were transported with major injuries, and one person sustained moderate injuries.
Highway 180 was closed in both directions for a period while crews cleared the wreckage and investigators documented the scene.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: CHP is working to determine what led to the collision. Investigators will assess whether either driver crossed into opposing traffic and whether impairment, distraction, speed, or mechanical failure were involved. Those injured in head-on collisions may have legal grounds to pursue personal injury claims depending on fault determinations.
I hope each of the injured individuals recovers quickly and fully.
