TEMECULA, Calif. — Four people, including two teenagers, were killed in a fiery crash Saturday night. According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Interstate 15 north of Winchester Road.
Incident details indicate that the operator of a BMW M4 was driving recklessly while traveling northbound when the vehicle veered left, crossed over the concrete median into the southbound lanes, and was struck on the right side by a Nissan Sentra. The BMW then burst into flames. Good Samaritans pulled the 25-year-old driver of the BMW from the car, and he was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center with major injuries. His passengers — a 23-year-old woman and two teens, ages 14 and 15, all from Moreno Valley — died at the scene. The Nissan’s driver, a 35-year-old man from Wildomar, died on the way to the hospital, while his 22-year-old passenger was hospitalized in critical condition.
The investigation is ongoing. Authorities said alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash. Charges are pending for the BMW driver, and witnesses are encouraged to contact the CHP at 951-466-4300.
We extend our deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones of those affected by this tragedy.
