Palm Springs, CA (March 3, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash on Monday, March 3, 2025, tragically claimed the life of 77-year-old Susan Cobb.
Accident Details: The crash occurred at approximately 11:55 a.m. on Highway 111 near Overture Drive. According to CHP Officer David Torres, a black Ford pickup truck crossed in front of a southbound Mazda SUV, which led to a broadside collision. Cobb, who was in the Mazda SUV, was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center, where she died a couple of hours later. The male driver of the Ford pickup truck reported experiencing pain but did not suffer serious injuries.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Authorities must determine why the pickup truck moved into the Mazda’s path. Was the truck trying to change lanes or pass a vehicle? Drivers must conduct these maneuvers cautiously and use signals to alert other drivers of their intended actions.
Investigators may check cell phone records, toxicology reports, and witness statements to determine whether the Ford driver was distracted or under the influence at the time of the crash.
Depending on the findings, Cobb’s family may be able to file a wrongful death claim and recover funeral expenses, loss of financial support, and emotional distress.
I extend my deepest condolences to Susan Cobb’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
