Malibu, CA (July 3, 2025) – Sophia Hutchins, a close friend and former manager of Caitlyn Jenner, was killed Wednesday in an all-terrain vehicle crash near Jenner’s Malibu home.
Accident Details: The fatal crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. in the 4300 block of Decker Edison Road, when the Polaris ATV Hutchins was driving was reportedly rear-ended by another vehicle. The impact caused the ATV to careen off the roadway and plummet over a cliff, ultimately landing on a road below. Hutchins, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Deputies from the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station responded to the crash and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the rear-end collision. Investigators will likely analyze road conditions, vehicle speeds, and statements from the other driver to determine fault.
If the rear driver is found liable for the collision, Hutchins’ family may have grounds to pursue a wrongful death claim for funeral costs, loss of companionship, and other damages.
