Chula Vista, CA (June 22, 2025) – Simon Robledo, 36, was killed Saturday evening after his motorcycle collided with a Chula Vista Police Department vehicle that was responding to a call for service, according to local authorities.
Incident Details: The crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Orange Avenue and Third Avenue. Investigators say a CVPD officer was responding to a high-priority call with emergency lights and sirens activated when Robledo, riding a motorcycle, struck the side of the patrol SUV.
Despite lifesaving efforts at the scene, Robledo was pronounced dead shortly after the collision. The officer involved sustained minor injuries and was treated at a hospital before being released.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: The Chula Vista Police Department is cooperating with an external investigation being conducted by the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division. Investigators will assess vehicle speeds, right-of-way, and whether all emergency protocols were properly followed.
