Lago Vista, TX (September 18, 2025) – A head-on collision involving a semi-truck and another vehicle left three people hospitalized Thursday afternoon, two of them with life-threatening injuries.
Accident Details: Police reported that the crash occurred at the intersection of FM 1431 and Dodge Trail. One adult patient with severe injuries was airlifted to a local hospital by STAR Flight helicopter. Two additional adults were transported by ambulance, one with life-threatening injuries and the other with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities closed a section of FM 1431 to allow the helicopter to land, causing significant traffic disruption in the area. All lanes were reopened later in the evening once the scene was cleared.
Investigation: The Lago Vista Police Department, assisted by Travis County ESD 1, is investigating the cause of the crash. Preliminary reports indicate that two vehicles were involved in the collision, including the semi-truck. Investigators are reviewing vehicle positions, skid marks, and roadway conditions to determine what caused the head-on impact.
Officers will also evaluate whether speed, distraction, or impairment played a role. Witness statements are expected to provide further insight into how the vehicles collided on the busy roadway.
