Palmview, TX (April 1, 2025) – A semi-truck flipped off an overpass Monday night along the eastbound US 83 Relief Route connector between Peñitas and Palmview, landing on a Chevy Camaro and sending multiple people to the hospital.
Incident Details: According to local reports, the semi-truck lost control while navigating a curved connector ramp and went over the side of the overpass. Conflicting accounts suggest either the Camaro was struck at ground level or pushed from the overpass in the process. The truck, reportedly hauling food products, caused structural damage to the guardrail and forced a temporary closure of the right shoulder of the ramp. Three individuals, including the truck driver, were hospitalized. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.
Investigation and Legal Considerations: Authorities are investigating what caused the semi-truck to lose control. Potential contributing factors could include speed on the ramp, mechanical failure, or improper lane use. Determining how the Camaro became involved will be critical for assigning liability. Any injured parties may consider filing personal injury claims to recover costs for medical care and vehicle damage. The trucking company may also be liable depending on the outcome of the investigation.
Wishing a full recovery to those injured in this frightening incident.
