SAN MARCOS, Calif. — Two cyclists were injured after being hit by a vehicle Sunday morning. According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the crash occurred just before 10:30 a.m. near South Santa Fe Avenue and Smilax Road.
Incident details indicate that a 19-year-old driver in a Toyota Corolla struck the two cyclists while they were riding along the roadway. Both cyclists were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities said the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing, and deputies have not announced whether charges will be filed.
